William T. (Bill) Robinson III

American Bar Association President Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III, an ALI member since 1995, is the member-in-charge of the Northern Kentucky offices of Frost Brown Todd LLC, a regional law firm with offices in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Indiana.

As ABA President, Robinson has four priorities:  raising awareness for the underfunding of our court system, highlighting lawyer volunteerism and pro bono work, increasing diversity, and enhancing membership efforts.

The primary focus of his law practice for almost 40 years has been civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels, with extensive experience in commercial litigation, class actions, product-liability defense, environmental litigation, and medical-malpractice defense.

An ABA member since 1972, Mr. Robinson has been active for more than 25 years in various ABA leadership roles, which include serving three years as ABA Treasurer, eight years on the Board of Governors, and nine years as Kentucky State Delegate on the ABA Nominating Committee.

Mr. Robinson had also served as President of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Foundation, and the National Caucus of State Bar Associations. He is a Founding Chair of Kentucky's Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts and a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.

Highlights of his many civic activities include serving as Chair for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Board, and the Cincinnati USA Partnership for Economic Development; he is the Founding Secretary-Treasurer of the Tri-county Economic Development Corporation.

In October 2011, The Irish Voice newspaper honored Mr. Robinson as a notable American lawyer of Irish descent by including him as a member of The Irish Legal 100 of 2011.

Mr. Robinson is a graduate of Thomas More College and the College of Law at the University of Kentucky, where, in 2004, he was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame.
